December 2014- Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) Prize for Biology
It is a pleasure to inform that Dr. Masoud Houshmand, the assistant professor of the National Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (medical biotechnology institute) has won the 2014 prize for “biology” from Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO). The ISESCO prizes are awarded to outstanding researchers and pioneering scientists for their great contribution to the innovation in science and technology. The Science prize consists of a certificate, a gold medal, and a cash award of US$ 5000 which will be awarded during a ceremony at the inauguration of the “7th Islamic conference of ministers of higher education and scientific research” on December 18-19, 2014 in Rabat, the kingdom of Morocco.
June 2015- Islamic Development Bank US$ 100,000 Prize to NIGEB
Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has selected to award the prize for science and technology in the category “Institution having achieved outstanding contribution to a given scientific discipline” to the National Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (NIGEB). The prize, which consists of a cash award of US$ 100,000, a trophy and a certificate, was presented to the director of NIGEB on the occasion of the 36th IDB Board of Governors Meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on June 29-30, 2011.
